Cowslip Orchid
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
A common terrestrial orchid, the Cowslip orchid (Caladenia flava flava) is widespread in the South West corner of Australia. Each clump of plants is a clone, with the flower colours varying from clump to clump, some with prominent red markings and others with almost entirely yellow flowers. It also hybridises with other Caladenia species and flowers abundantly after a summer fire.
This species is uncommon on my block and I may need to do a control burn (burn the understorey)to improve its survival. |

Hallo Odile
A beautifully composed image with an artistic touch to it. I like the whole setting. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
