|This was taken at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia.|
The sanctuary is the world's first and largest koala sanctuary.
This guy was not part of any special area and at some arbitrary unfenced area in the sanctuary
about 30 feet up.
Looks like he could sleep anywhere.
Koalas are generally 9-20 lbs and 27-36 inches in size.
The liveup to 17 years and spends 75% of their time sleeping !
The Koala is the only mammal, other than the Greater Glider and Ringtail Possum,
which can survive on a diet of eucalyptus leaves
and it seldom drinks water obtaining it from the eucalyptus leaves, which are 50% consisting of water.
Having a slow metabolic rate they sleep up to 16 hours a day.
