Taken in the botanical gardens in Christchurch.Butterfly is an insect of the order Lepidoptera. They are notable for their unusual life cycle with a larval caterpillar stage an inactive pupal stageand a spectacular metamorphis into the winged adult form. Most species are day flyers and also important as a major agent of pollination.

Hi Erwin. A very clear well detailed picture of this beautiful butterfy. You have captured very natural colours .and good use of the light. I may have cropped the right hand side a little . well done TFS.
