The wings have such beautiful designs of earth tones..I have not seen this one before...it is much grand as is the swallowtail, but in easy to see colours..

Very good capture of this beautiful butterfly. Superb reproduction of the colour patterns of the wings. You could have used the fill flash to get a better DOF and longer shorter time exposure.

what a beautiful Blue Morpho!
You've captured it well showing the intricate patterns and eye-spots on its wings really clearly.
Great composition.
Superb colours.
Slightly blurred due to the slow shutter speed but you have a very steady hand to get it this sharp at 1/60! :-)
Maybe next time you could try using a bit of flash if the light is low. I always find that flash highlights more detail on the wings of butterflies and with a nice light BG it can give a great effect.
Great soft light here too.

I was with your sunset picture first, but then curiosity led me here first, Tony.
I must say that though your established forte is landscapes/seascapes, you are equally adept at macros of butterflies, as this lovely picture clearly establishes.
The species is beautiful, but it turns into a stunning winner through this image of yours. What rich colours and what a technically outstanding capture!

sorry for my delay. I visit this great shots newly. Your species a bit similar to Kirinia butterflies here, with large spots like-eyes. I think single relationship that both of two are members of same family, Saturidae. You nicely captured and composed. Colors and focus great.
I'd like to see more shots of NZ butterflies. Thanks for sharing this beauty. have a wonderful weekend my friend
