[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This view, looking north along the West Coast, was taken from my friends garden on the hill just south of Nine Mile beach.
In the foreground are typical coastal plants, most notably the prominent Dracophyllum, which grows from sea level right up to the alpine meadows.

This area is right in the middle of gold and coal mining country, and coal and quartz are exposed to the surface all around here. Its not unusual to be walking through the bush,or on the beach, and find lots boulders and pebbles of smoked quartz, rose quartz and big rounded lumps of coal.

The volcano like peak on the right is Mount George, which I climbed with my kids last week.
Later on,I'll post a few photos taken on our journey to the top.

Hope you like this view of our beautiful West Coast.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,

I can't imagine having a view like that from my garden! A very beautiful seascape. I love the lush greenery in the foreground, the water, beautiful sky and mountains. All of my favorite ingredients wrapped into one picture.

Very nicely captured Steve. A real rugged west coast beach. Not too good for swimming, I imagine.
I like your composition with the bush clad hills,
TFS

Hi Steve,
that place is fantastic, some day I have to come to your homeland, must be wonderful.
Hans (GreenBaron) from TL visited NZ in the last month, did you meet him?
He was so happy there, his shots are showing that so well. And when I look at yours I'm sure I also will see this place ...
Thanks and many greetings
