Bullock Creek, which flows into the sea at Punakaiki, has to be the most interesting river I have ever followed, even though I've only ever seen short stretches of it.
In many places it flows in deep limestone gorges surrounded by very thick subtropical rainforest.
It passes through numerous caves and narrow sluices,
winds its way through wide open plains, some filled with swamp and flax, and some covered in sandy beaches with inland sand dunes.
In many places, the rocks that line the stream bed are all quartz and mica and sparkle in the sun as you walk along.
This particular spot is often bone dry as most of the river is diverted into a huge cave just upstream of here. However,on this particular day it was flooded, which meant I had to get this shot, then race back down the gorge before the road became impassable.
(The river often floods the access road, and there is no other way out).
I thought the combination of whethered limestone rocks and beech trees made a beautiful tranquil scene.
I hope you enjoy it too.

An interesting location I like the combination of rocks tress and water, good reflections. maybe some pp with crop and contrast

I've taken for workshop back soon

Good photo, composition and colour. I like it as is. I find that with the workshop: too much contrast, it makes too many lines, makes the photo too busy. Also, I prefer the original compo of Steve, because the wide angle view is better for the meaning of the photo.

Take care. Yan

Hello Steve, And reflection it has! Great scene my friend..Makes me want to be there, explore.. I enjoyed your description of the area very much, Well done my friend!

Hi Steeve,
Composition: 4 - Very good composition
POV: 2 - A broader sight would make it possible not to cut the trees of the first-plan
DOF: 3
Sharpness: 4
Contrast: 3
Colours: 2

4+2+3+4+3+2=18 divide per 3 = 6 points
1 point more for the interesting note give you a total of 7 points corresponding to the content smiley.

You are the first on which I test my notation. I would wish that a charter of notation be installation on TN. For this purpose, I invite you to take note of my proposal on the forum during the discussion “A charter for TrekNature”. I would be happy that you deliver your opinion to it.

TFS, cordially,

Hello Steve!
Very nice scane.Reflection on water is wonderful and I think could be better when we saw greater part;).I liked composition very much. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Steve,
this picture looks like here in the late summer(now in Europe). I like this landscape. It so beautiful and naturally wild.

Good job.

Hey Steve,

What a fabulous location. You've got really good sharpness and strong contrasts in this photo. It's a compelling place --- the kind of place I'd rather be at than here at work.

I am a little hesitant to say anything as I don't wont to get a reputation of been a critical b*****d :)

There is nothing wrong with it, it just does not have that wow factor. Maybe a different POV will help.
