[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is another shot from our visit to Waitomo earlier this week.
The Ruakuri natural bridge is a short section of passage that was obviously part of a much longer, now collapsed system on the Waitomo stream.
Further upstream, the river passes through the broken and flooded sections of Waitomo Waterfall cave, and further downstream, flows through the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves.Just downstream of here in the river bank,is the resurgence of the river flowing through Ruakuri cave...the famous 'Black Water Rafting' cave. (This trip was a long time favourite of 'old time' cavers before it became a tourist attraction...a 'float through' was always a popular event after the pub on a Saturday night.
This natural bridge has always been a favourite place to abseil. We practice abseiling off the roof, straight down the middle of the picture,(from where the really badly overexposed bit is).

I've posted another view from inside in Workshop.
The stream just turns a corner and comes back out into daylight again.

Looks like Paradise. I guess this picture was difficult to take, but you did it very well Steve.

Interesting Steve. Does the water actually come through the hole in the rocks?
Good post
