I think this is an orb weaver. Their webs are often from coconut tree to coconut tree in Vanuatu. They are harmless.

Hello Jim, I saw these orb weaver spiders on Norfolk Island last year. At one place we saw spider webs covering at least 30-40 feet of trees and fences. With 1000's of these spiders! Imagine walking at night and getting caught in them!! Scary!!
Good shot, you show her well, plus her supper all ready cooking for her.
