I´m back again after some time away from mountains.
I started the trekking period with a quiet trek into Cajón Negro (http://www.treknature.com/gallery/South_America/Argentina/South/Neuquen/Villa_La_Angostura/photo94810.htm).
This summer is quite strange: we had some snow, some hot weather, lots of rainy days, so flowers appears right now, too late maybe. We´re also having lots and lots of bugs, something quite strange for us.
I found this perezia before we arrive at the glaciar cirque, in the middle of the forest. As I don´t remember the leaves, I can´t ID it as a perezia bellidifolia or a perezia fonkii. I guess that the first one.
Here is the description of the Perezia bellidifolia:
Perennial, rhizomatose herb. Basal leaves in rosette, spatulate, 3 to 6.5cm, slightly crenate, glabrous, the upper few and reduced. Heads solitary at the end of the stems, with involucre 15 to 20mm, the invlucral bracts in 2 to 3 series, widely oblong. Flowers numerous, bilabiate, blue, the marginal with outer lip 8 to 9 mm long. Achenes pilose with pappus of dirty white color.
Habitat and distribution: high andean zone, on stony or sandy ground or among rocks, especially in sunny places near treeline. Mountains of southern Neuquén and northwestern Rio Negro in Argentina and bordering regions of Chile.
Obs: this species is characterized by the spatulate, pale green, shiny leaves with entire margins. Flowering in summer. The epithet bellidifolia means "leaves like Bellis", i.e, the lawn or "English daisy".
