Hola Hernán,
Fine detailed macro of the front part of a species of bug unknown to me. Your home-made macro seems to work well, despite the large aperture and limited DOF.
Nice POV and composition.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Ciao Silvio

Hi Hernan,
A very good macro on this Patato bug. The detail in the head area is very sharp. A nice gradual falloff in the DOF looks good. Some dramatic light and shadows her.

TFS saludos/Lawhill

Hi Hernan

Wow, in your face…a monster from outer space...
No, it is only a potato bug, enjoying the views and pushing its luck.

I have a bit of mixed opinions about this shot. One opinion says that it would have been great if you could have gained a slightly wider DOF range from your super improvised macro lens, so that more of the insect was in focus. The other opinion says that it really turned out fabulous just as it is. For one reason, the DOF range probably shows quite sufficient sharpness and details in the head and frontal thorax area. The minds eye has enough to be able to fill in the rest of the detail and therefore don't need more than the gradually falloff in the features. Anyway, the part that is in focus is remarkably sharp. No question about the marvellous composition or the rich colours either.

I believe "well done" is appropriate and TFS.

Hernan, I like the presentation. Great sharpness around the head and great composition. I like colors too.
