Laguna Esmeralda (Emerald lagoon). Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
A very nice trekking path, not so hard. It starts from the siberian dogs hatchery, crossing a cross country ski track and taking the path trough peats and a river full of beavers dykes. After that, you reach this emerald lagoon, an amazing a quite place. If you keep walking sourrounding the lagoon and start a harder trekking along a high scree with very loose rocks, you can reach a glacier (Ojo de Albino).
This picture was taken at the middle of the path, between the lagoon and the glacier. You can see both the lagoon and the scree. The valley was formed with glaciers, some of those are still at high mountain points. Trees belongs to the andenean flora specially lengas.
The courius thing about the Andes here is that all along Argentina and Chili, the Andes runs from north to south but at Tierra del Fuego the Andes runs from west o east and at the Antartica peninsula it goes again from north to south.
The pic was taken about at 14hs, cloudy day and a bit windy, |

Hello Brenda
Nice landscape, thank you for sharing this unusual Emerald lagoon
Regards
Luis
That's a beautiful landscape, Brenda!
Excellent POV to capture the emerald lake encased within the walls of the valley. The depth of view takes us all the way to the mountains on the other side and the clouds hovering over them.
Well done and TFS!
