Not the best pic, but actually the one I like most. This iceberg was floating on our route to Spegazzini glacier. I love this one ´cause it seems like a little scenario with big rounded rocks on it. Like a giant´s playroom!
As far as I know, deep blue ice is because it´s too compact: Blue ice occurs when snow falls on a glacier, is compressed, and becomes part of a glacier that winds its way toward a body of water (river, lake, ocean, etc.). During its travels, air bubbles that are trapped in the ice are squeezed out, and the size of the ice crystals increases, making it clear (wikipedia). |

Hi Brenda.
This iceberg is simply wonderful. Its colours, shapes, texture are reflected perfectly. Framing if the scene is also very good. Best regards and TFS.
Alexei.
Hi Brenda,
Except for being a bit unsharp, I see no problems with this photo at all. You photographed this interesting phenomenon quite well with great control of exposure. "Not the best pic", as you wrote - but I love it! Tfs and congrats.
Have a prosperous new year, best regards, László
