|The fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster or possesses disproportionately large eyes and vivid colors. Vary from red to white or sepia and reflect their genetic makeup. Most fruit flies that breed in their natural habitat has red eyes. Cafes and cuttlefish eyes are the result of a recessive gene and only occurs when two flies mating sepia eyes. The white eyes, bright red (vermilion) and metal coffee are the result of a mutation and are less common. -|
