Vulgar names: Puma, bay lion (Argentina); mountain lion (Uruguay); yaguá pitá (guaraní); trapial (mapuche); onça brown, onça vermelha (Portuguese); mountain lion, puma (English).
It is the feline more widely spread of the Americas, is it from Canada to the South end of Argentina. It inhabits diverse habitats: deserts, mountains, forests, grasslands, forests, steppes and punas. Its coat is varied according to the zone, can be reddish, brown, "lionish" and gray.
It is an solitary animal, but not in mating time .
The young, that is 2 or 3, is born stained and loses their design once they grow. Between their prey are armadillos, maras, red deers, rodents, camelids(guanacos, llamas and vicunas), rodents of everything forms(specially vizcachas, cuises,coipos, capybaras, etc.), domestic animals and others introduced as the red deer and wild boars (all these prey are from Argentina, in other countries varies).
It´s not in extinction danger, but was eliminated ample zones of Argentina, in special in humid Pampas and mesopotamia. It is very rare that it attacks the man.

I like the composition at this moment you can see the dreaming.

La expresividad del perfil del puma durmiendo no se parece para nada a los poses fieros que suelen mostrar estos felinos.
