[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note [Spanish] |
While it was working in the field I stopped my truck to about 10 meters of the bird, this was not frightened very much, but it began to walk and soon it flew. It seems that it did not like much the photos.
(Vanellus chilensis)
vulgar names: tero, teru-teru (Argentina and Uruguay);chorlitejo de alas punteagudas (Spain); quero-quero (Brasil);Southern lapwing (English).
This bird lives in open areas where it is fed on small animals, also it adapts well to urban environments where it finds parks of good size, soccer fields, gardens, etc. nest in the ground and put of 3 to 4 speckled eggs. They are monogamous and they protile his nest jealously threatening threatening flights and getting to hurt in last instance with spurs that it has in his wings.
When something threatens its nest one of individuals the pair attracts with shouts and moving near the possible predator to turn aside it of its young or eggs. Its shout resembles to the one of its vulgar name, teru-teru. |

Hi Hernan,
A very nice shot on this interesting looking bird. Pretty bright light, but you handled it well. Colors and detail look very good. I really like that Red Eye.
Scott
such a bad bird, just to run away, while you´re
trying to capture it, hernan! :-)
the side-back-pov is really good, too, it
shows some nice colors and the terrific Red Eye
is still looking at the lens.
well done & take care, thor.

Hello Hernan,
Interesting capture of an interesting bird! With the red eye, the green, the rust, the brown, the white and the black, it is finally a very colorful bird! TFS,
Michel

Merci encore, Hernan.
JN.
