I take this photo the same cold morning that take my last image in TN, with -3ºC but nice to stay below sunlight.

Vulgar names: Chiflón, Garza chiflona (Argentina); Maria faceira (Brasil); Whistling Heron (English)

It measures 53 cm. Has a blue sky mask and rosaceous bill. It inhabits dry lands, rice fields, places little flooded.
It lives from Brazil to Argentina, Paraguay and Bolívia, also in Venezuela and Colombia.
Habits
They walk with lengthened paces and or calculated, as they were observed some danger or an opportunity. They eat insects, also hunts some vertebrates.
Reproduction
They make nests on the trees, or shrubs, also in islands. The eggs are slightly stained.
Very different from other family species , its voice is a repeated and melodious whistle without haste "i, i, i"; made with the long open bill and with the prim neck is emitted.

Hi Hernan,
Nice shot, beautiful light in the early morning, and maybe because it was so cold the light is good. Great framing/composition and colours, nice detail. Interesting note too, a good post.

Hi Hernan
The early morning light has rendered some lovely rich/warm colours on this shot. As I told you last time you are brave to be taking photos in that temperature. Maybe it is quite normal for you but I would be home watching a good DVD or play with my toes, but my camera will be well packed away. So, what I am saying is that I admire you guys for braving the elements under these kind of conditions, all in the name of photography.
Very well done with this nice capture of the heron. I like the tree-top composition, the colours are good, the details are sufficient, and you managed the exposure very well. TFS.

Nice picture Hernan! I really like your pov and composition. The sun light gives warm to the bird also! The amount of blue sky on your composition is perfect in my opinion! The exposition and focus cannot be better! Well done!
