|I found this insect at a farm, near the city of Santa Cruz. I don't know its name, but it almost looked like a plastic toy... until it moved!|

First of all welcome to TrekNature! I hope, you will enjoy your membership as much as I do since I joined on 10 September 2009.
You observed very well this little "precious stone". Your focus and exposure are good, and the colours natural.
The little sparkles, caused by reflections in dew or raindrops add interest to your image.
You could improve your photo, if you observed "the rules of the Thirds. A little contrast would also make a difference.
I upload to your workshop a suggestion, to demonstrate, what I mean.
Next time, when you go out with your camera, you will remember where to put the object.
