My last presentation before I go back to the Pantanal. One of the most special birds there is the Hyacinth Macaw. This photo of that bird I found in my archive. An unpublished one from five years ago.

Hyacinth Macaws (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) have a high-energy diet, based on nuts from the fruit of two species of palm trees, the “acuri” and the “bocaiúva”.
They usually eat the “acun” nuts after they have fallen to the ground, whether on open land or in the pastures. They take the seeds, which have been husked by cattle or by wild animals. In the case of the “bocaiúva” , the nuts are plucked and eaten directly from the tree. As the birds are very social in their behaviour, they gather early in the morning or at the end of the day, to eat together.

This is what you see on the photo. I counted 23 Macaws in that field. I already have posted that scene five years ago. This bird was one of them.
It was not easy to photograph them in the wild. The photo is taken in the afternoon. And there was full bright sunlight. But I find it interesting enough to show you this one. I hope you like it too.

Hello Peter,

Hope you are doing fine friend. Yes, Pantanal, is a is haven for bird. It is a difficult area, has its own wildlife, unique as it stands. And your photo from the archives of these elegant parrots, is superb. I think they are as beautiful as are their cousins Scarlet Macaws.
This in-flight bird alighting has been captured in perfect posture, Peter.Despite harsh sunlight it looks splendid.
Thanks a lot for sharing a fine photo and thanks also for your support, Peter....stand obliged.
Take care.....warmest regards/Abid

Hello Peter,
A beautiful in-flight shot of this Hyacinth Macaw. It is not always easy to photograph these colorful birds in the wild as they live and travel in such a vast area.
I tried to capture some Scarlet Macaws while down in Costa Rica this summer, but couldn't get close enough for a decent shot.
Thank you for giving us a glimpse of this particular bird taken out of your archives.

Ciap Peter. Great flying capture MF! Fantastic colours agains the graphic blurred BG.

The king of birds!

Hi Peter this a very dynamic shot of the colourful macaw showing well it's tail and for it's body, large head.I would of liked to have seen a greater DOF say f/8 or 9 to better show all of the bird in focus but the ISO used was not fast enough for the speed of the bird so a little softness exists.I like to use ISO 400 most of the time to keep my shutter speed fast and yet have little or no noise in the Av mode I prefer.I rather like this blue coloured bird and maybe someday I'll get an opportunity to have a go with one as you have had.I am very fond of birds and thank you for sharing this one with us.

Excelente tiro. Bom ângulo, cores, boa oportunidade. Parabéns.

Excellent shot. Good angle, colors, good opportunity. Congratulations.

Wow - if that bird flies as fast as it looks like it does, this was an amazing shot! I tried to get some Australian Lorikeets in flight - if this moves like they did, you were exceptionally alert to capture it.

Hello Peter,
Excellent capture in flight with great sharp details and clarity.
TFS and my regards_Joy

This one from my country that still I did not have the chance to take photos there. I Love the Parots. Congrats.
