Ana, I did exactly the same thing once. I found a spectacular butterfly like this (Swallowtail, I believe) dead on the ground and placed it on a leaf to photograph it for posterity. While doing so, I lifted the butterfly by holding both sides of its wings with my fingers. In the process, I smudged the powdery coloration on its wings. Ivan (Argus) caught me and advised me not to lift a dead butterfly that way because I had not mentioned in my note that the creature was already dead. Obviously, I was ashamed. :)
You have done no such thing with your dead butterfly. The unsullied beauty of its wings comes through well in this picture. The red flowers make a supportive BG and add to the appeal of the composition.

Third dedication in row - unprecedented! I am speechless but full of thoughts!
Let me congratulate you for your honesty regarding the techniques involved with this shot dear aNa! I am just wandering what the reaction of some of the members will be if I am the person behind that shot ......? Hm.. probably, some would call me even a killer! Just wonder! But you are not ... you are nice looking gentle creature with a big smile always on your face!
Good capture aNa! Very good! Spectacular! What superb colors and detail ... and I love that composition specially! 5* rating indeed!

Hola Ana.
Muy hermosa la foto de esta colorida Mariposa Cola de Golondrina. Los colores bien definidos y alta nitidez.
La nota escrita con un alto sentido de humanidad por las demas creaturas con las que a diario convivimos en nuestro mundo.
Por otro lado siempre he pensado que TN es un sitio donde aprendemos atrvez de la fotografia. Yo doy mucho mas credito al esfuerso puesto para lograr la foto, y no en la calidad del equipo usado.

Très en retard pour cause de travail imprévu. Je vois que tu as vu un magnifique papillon dans ton jardin. Quelle beauté! J'espère qu'il a pu continuer son chemin! Mais la nature est quelque fois impitoyable. Belle photo aux couleurs vives et présentée avec une très bonne netteté.

Hola Ana,
a very nice and colourful picture of this giant swallowtail.
Its name is Papilio thoas and it is slightly different from
P. cresphontes which, however, does not occur in South Brazil.
