Grilos são insetos pertencentes à Ordem Orthoptera, assim como os gafanhotos. Tal grupo se caracteriza por representantes de cabeça grande, olhos compostos, longas antenas e peças bucais mastigadoras. Alguns também possuem asas e/ou pernas traseiras fortes, adaptadas ao salto. Todos os grilos têm esta última característica, e a maioria tem asas.
Os grilos se reproduzem com grande facilidade, gerando um número grande de filhotes. Cada fêmea coloca cerca de 100 ovos durante seu período reprodutivo.

Hello Nilson,
What unusual colors for a grasshopper, I have never seen one quite like it. Very good detail and just the right amount of exposure. I wish we had grasshopper so beautiful as this here in Ohio.
