A photo from my archive of last year when I visited Iguazu. A part of it is Devil’s Throat. And, of course, with a bird: The Great Egret.
This photo is taken from the Brazilian side in the late afternoon. I was wondering about the Swallows there. They fly by dozens in and out of this waterfall. They are nesting behind the fall.

The waterfall system of Iguazu consists of 275 falls along 2.7 kilometers (1.67 miles) of the Iguazu River.
Some of the individual falls are up to 82 meters (269 ft) in height, though the majority are about 64 metres (210 ft). The Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat in English; Garganta do Diabo in Portuguese), a U-shaped 82-metre-high, 150-metre-wide and 700-metre-long (490 by 2300 feet) cliff, is the most impressive of all, and marks the border between Argentina and Brazil. Two thirds of the falls are within Argentine territory. About 900 metres of the 2.7-kilometer length does not have water flowing over it. The edge of the basalt cap recedes only 3 mm per year. The water of the lower Iguazu collects in a canyon that drains into the Rio Parana in Argentina, shortly downstream from the Itaipu dam.

Merhaba Peter,

Prima foto.

Hello Peter, a marvelous scene shot with white egret at the corner of the frame.
TFS and regards,

Hi Peter,

I almost got to Iguazu Falls - we were supposed to leave a week after 9/11. I'm happy to see this picture since I missed the real thing. I'm fascinated by the strange color of the water falling. You captured the flow beautifully. And, of course, the Egret is a bonus.

Hi Peter. Now thats some water fall. I like the colour in the water it looks like warm sunlight but i think its just the strong under flow. Good compostion to get the Great White Egret in the picture. It stands out so well. TFS.

Great POV Peter, those fantastic falls are very impressive! Good exposure, thanks!

Ciao Peter, great waterfall in your splendid composition, wonderful natural colors and superb light, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Peter, wonderful shot of this waterfall system. Details, colours and sharpness are excellent.
TFS and cheers,

Hi Peter,
Excellent capture of this amazing waterfall. Great POV and composition, good lighting and colours.

The bird is so...so very much demure...so small and unassuming in the grandness and probably very noisy falls...There is almost a contradiction in the photo as if it doesn't belong there but is if just for a bit...Wow! Nice shot!

Excellent capture of this waterfall. Excellent composition and sharpness. Superb colours.
Best wishes,

A fantastic sight, Peter, with the addition of the bird! We feel the droplets dancing everywhere, the movement of the water and the egret watching for prey, probably dizzy with the fall... superb.

Hi Peter,
Nicely composed and exposed photo of this charming place. The egret is a bonus :o) TFS
All the best,

Aunque la imagen puede mejorar técnicamente, el conjunto nos transporta a ese bello rincón perdido en el mundo !
Un atractivo trabajo que te pone dentro de la escena.
Saludos Peter: Josep Ignasi.
