Taken at Mocambo Park, under the same circumstances I took yesterdays post.

Im almost sure it was a time when the ants were having their food. But what grabbed my attention is the fact that the little creatures (what are they?) didnt try to escape. I even dont know if they were alive.

Ants have been acclaimed for their wisdom since ancient times. They stand out at, or near, the peak of invertebrate development, displaying memory, learning, and the ability to correct mistakes. However, these intelligences are trapped inside rigid and programmed behavior patterns.

Like human societies, ant communities have their own expertise at the three primary methods of obtaining food: gathering, hunting, and growing. The caste system of ants is believed to have existed for 30 or 40 million years.

fantastic sery of yours, Livio,
I look likes Aliens, fantastic in pov with the fantastic details, great job I like it a lot my friend,
gr. Jaap

Excellent picture. Very dramatic posture of the ant. "Little creatures" are nymphae of homopteran bugs, some kind of cycadas or their kin. I don't know this ant, but probably these bugs are not it's prey - they serve rather as domestic cattle.

Another brilliant macro, I just love the BG colours Livio. The scene is one of wonder and awe. Ants do fascinate me and Iv been studying them lately in my back garden. They seem to attack anything around them except the spiders? Details and compo are again first class. Very good work.

This looks like in another world - perhaps on Mars?
The colours are so warm and you have made a beautiful photo.
Well done

Great shot Livio
Well composed, good detail, colours and sharpness.
Nicely captured and well exposed, good POV and DOF. The other bi=ugs look like some kind of shield bug.
Thanks for posting, aprece o fim de semana (is that right?)

Hola Livio: Impactante macro. Exelente toma y colorido excepcional. Una hermosa foto donde te puedes imaginar toda una historia de ataques y guerra entre ambos bandos. Un poco como es la vida del ms inteligente? de los animales: el humano.
