Atlides dahnersi

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Neotropical Eumaeines (Lycaenidae), specially those in the cloud forest has a strong flight more similar to skippers than european hairstreaks or blues.
This is one of the most recently discovered Atlides species. This species was discovered for my friend and great collector Hans Dahners in a hill near Cali and described in 2004. No other populations of this species are known, the female is unknown. This is the first photo of this species in the nature. The lack of hindwing "tail" is characteristic of Atlides dahnersi. |

Witaj,
Pozdrawiam
Alina
