Sorry for my absence... It's just because I have been facing some firewall problems again trying to reach Trek Nature from the office...And times I spend at home are limited, but I'm trying to keep up with you as much as I can, unfortunately nowadays this was the best I could do...

I've posted a very similar photo of this lovely place in last may, the reason I'm uploading a similar post is- it has been dull and cloudy over here in Ankara for quite a long time and I've missed the sun, and the sea as well :o) Hope you enjoy it as well.

Have a great weekend :o)

Consisting of 13 major islands, 17 smaller islands and more than 40 rocks the Galapagos National Park preserves this unique environment. The Galapagos comprises 3100 square miles, which includes 90% of the land surface and the entire ocean area within the region. Through this vast natural haven there are just 54 sites which welcome visitors. These ports of call are pre-determined by the the National Park Service in order to minimize the effect of tourism in the islands while creating an astonishing itinerary full of wonder.

Bartolomé Island
Bartolomé is a volcanic islet just off the east coast of Santiago Island. It is one of the 'younger' islands in the Galápagos archipelago.

The best known of the island's features is the Tuff Cone known as Pinnacle Rock. This large black partially eroded lava formation was created when magma expelled from the volcano reached the sea. When the seawaters cooled the hot lava it caused an explosion. The exploded particles eventually fasten together forming a rock composed of thin layers. Lying beside the Pinnacle Rock are twin half moon shaped beaches.

The northern beach is a popular snorkeling site where visitors have the opportunity to swim with fish, Sea Lions and Galapagos Penguins. Much larger animals can be found near the southern beach including stingrays, spotted eagle rays, white-tipped sharks, and black-tipped sharks.

Little vegetation grows in this barren place. Mangroves border the beach and the small shrub Tiguilia grows in the volcanic sands. The seeds and tiny white flowers of the Chamaesycae provide food for the island's finch. These plants are common to arid regions and are able to survive in these harsh volcanic conditions.

Love the ruffles in the water and patterns of the sand, wonderfully lighted by the sun, which are leading the eye perfectly to the very beautiful rock formation in the BG.

Fantastic saturated colours here.
The contrast is exceptional!
Very good composition too. I think a shell or something similar in the FG would have spiced it up a bit but still the simplicity of this is superb!
Great sharpness and impeccable clarity.
Very well done Selen!

Hi Selen

No need to say this is very beautiful, Selen.

Hi Selen,
Wonderful shot of this beautiful place and you have captured the tranquil ambience so well. Those well shaped rocks give a fabulous perspective and I like your low POV to get the amazing details on the water. Lovely colours and details and perfect natural lighting. Very tempting sea. Excellent DOF, POV and composition. Kudos.

bonjour selen
je ne connais pas grand chose en ce qui concerne les paysage mais je pense que cela aurait été bien d'avoir un sujet en premier plan afin de donner plus de profondeur a l'image.

Hello Selen
I would love to be there with you.
The low POV is amazing with excellent sharp focus and clarity.
Excellent lighting and exceptional vivid colours.
The shot is very well composed,it really looks inviting.

This is a good image to frame Selen. It is the type of feel good photo I like.
Nice sky colour, and detail inside the water.
Have a nice weekend

Hello Selen,
Excellent composition, clarity of water, tones of blue & luminosity.I like the small patch of white cloud close to the horizon in the clear blue sky. TFS.

Dear Selen,
A glorious photo of this glorious Galapagos Landmark.

I was there in 1997 - and I believe that since then - the number of tourist has increased horrifically.

Particularly - the cruise ships releasing uncontrolled waste in to the sea - makes one wonder how much longer the water, which you demonstrate so well, will remain so pristine.

You obviously were standing in the water to get this angle and the fleeting view of more islands in the background gives the viewer an idea, that there are more, and more and more islands...

The cloud adds interest and the bit of greenery on the left balances the images as well as also describes some of the vegetation in the Galapagos.

All in all it makes me wish I had been there again.

Have a nice day
Kind Regards
