[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Giant anacondas in the wild is a sight I mostly see on TV, I never expected when we went to the Llanos we can go anaconda hunting, which is what we did, armed with a long stick, you poke through thick slimy mud on a dried up water hole on your bare feet, wading through unkown territory, when you feel it with your stick or with your foot, you're supposed to stay put and call the guide so he can grab it, but most of us once we felt it panic and run like crazy leaving our stick and our dignity behind! can you blame us it's over fix feet long! Anyway, we did not harm the poor creature, we let it go after we had our photo. And more photos of this adventure to come... |

Eugh, I think I'd run a mile aswell, and would probably leave more than my dignity behind me ;-)
An incredible beast, you were incredibly lucky to find her in her natural habitat. It's a shame your focus isn't on her face, but then if I were taking this shot I'd probably need the largest zoom lens in the world! *LOL*
Thanks for being brave and for sharing this image with us.

Neat. I hope one day to find a big female anaconda like that.
Good shot. Pity you couldn't lie down in front of it and get a face to face shot - LOL. Maybe next time!

Quite the snake, Gil!
I also wish the head was a little better focused. But, well seen and composed. Great shot!
Thanks,
Dave
