Flame-tailed Pondhawk (Erythemis peruviana)

Today I went out to walk around my town at 6 am!, I brought with me my compact canon, although I did not think find much of interest to photograph.

When I came to a dirt road that crosses two orange farms, I could see this little female of Flame-tailed Pondhawk (the male was near, but never stop!). Then I thought, "Wow, looks like one of the dragonflies of Mr. Ram in TN!"... ha ha ha :) .... certainly the insects of both countries often look very similar!

So this is a photo to Mr. Ram Thakur (ramthakur), he often post cute dragonflies! Obviously, my photo is taken with my little compact (and my little skills) and has no quality of the photos taken by Mr. Ram, but I think have similar colors and lights. :)

I did the first photo with a POV at the same height (and directly side view) of the dragonfly, but I thought it would be a photo with a "POV quite common" then I did this another shot, going up a bit and moving to the right, adjusting f/3.2 to f/3.5 for correct the DOF a bit; this photo I liked more!

Mr. Ram, I hope you've time to see this shot; I know you're teacher, and I presume you're very occupied! :)

Thanks by stop and visit!

Ciao Jesus, anche oggi grazie alla differenza di fuso me ne vedo due, bellissima libellula tutta d'oro, fantastica macro, magnifica nitidezza, bravissimo, buona Domenica, ciao Silvio

Ciao Jesus. Good POV for this dragonfly in splendid light and colours. Fine details. Have a nice Sunday MF!

Hi Jesús again,
Not only the colors are fantastic, but also the whole composition, focus / sharpness, lights and background blur. Taken with a compact camera or not, a masterpiece without doubt. I'm sure Mr. Ram will be happy to get this awesome golden dragonfly as a gift. Superb post. Bravo.
Friendly regards and hugs, László

Jesus, you are a dear. I know what you mean; this dragonfly looks like my staple Scarlet Skimmer female but actually insn't.
Grear image in perfect clarity. The image is without the slightest blemish.
Well done and TFS.
