Rusty-margined Guan
Family: Cracidae Species: Penelope superciliaris
Length: 55 cm. This species occurs throughout most of Brazil, from Amazônia (south of the Amazon River and from Maranhão west to the Madeira River) south to Rio Grande do Sul. It lives in dense forest, capoeiras, caatinga and on the banks of rivers and lakes. It forms small family groups of three to five birds, feeding on fruit, flowers, leaves and shoots. It nests in liana vegetation, over the water, or occasionally on boulders inside the forest Its Brazilian names are jacupemba, jacucaca and jacupeba.

Hello Marcio,
Fine capture of this Guan with its chicks, a species new to me.
This is a sharp and well-composed shot and the bird contrasts well against the grassy BG.
