[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This sea otter was just swimming around. The red nose indicates that this is a female that has just mated. At least that's what i've been told.

In Pacific Grove you can get within a hundred feet or so of sea otters if you're lucky.

Hi Tom, a wonderful shot of the Sea Otter! Nice close up and the splashes in the water are crystal sharp. I love the POV and blue tones in the water. I do like Otters, this one is a real beauty. Wonderful composition.

Hi Tom,

Wonderful close-up of the otter. I was wondering about the red nose but you explained it. Love the water splashes.

Wow, you were really lucky to see this lady. She's very cute.
Maybe a slower shutter speed would have allowed more light?
Nicely composed though.

Hi Tom, excellent shot of this otter in her element. I've never seen one of these guys before so its good to see shots such as yours. You're fighting some extremes in light here; you've managed the highlights well but it might be just a tad lighter up front.

Thanks, John

Great capture . This little lady is healthy and happy . I've worked with these creatures in captivity , and they are one of my favorite animals to work with . Hope you have more chances to photo many more of these wonderful creatures . Uncle Tom , maybe ? Thanks for sharing , Kevin .

It is a bless to see wild see otters.
Strange about the noise. I would have thought she was wonded if your note wasn't there.
Excellent composition.
