hi Horia,

An appropriate choice of image to bid Howard a touching farewell, Horia.
The image is sharp, crisp and colourful. Never mind the missing part of the tail; the butterfly is still beautiful.
Best regards,

Hi Horia,
I am watching the football game of our two nations and I immediately needed to think of my good friend in Romania.

This is truly a wonderful photo and the dedication to Howard is perfect. He has produced some marvelous b'fly photos and made me wonder how he did it. Great lichting, details and composition. The OOF BG really enhances the beuaty of the b'fly.

Hi Horia,
Emotional dedication.I pray to GOD for him and his family. Hope to see him back but its very unlikely. :(
.very well timed shot. Impaccable capture. I like the BG especially. Its really pity to see shattered wing. Nice colors.Excellant details

Una imagen como tu dedicatoria: fabulosa.
Saludos y ojalá se puedan ver cumplidos tus deseos.
Juan Luis.

Hi Horia,

A highly suitable photograph given its intention and dedication. I gather that Howard gave a huge input to the site and will be sorely missed by his friends here.

This is a great way to show your own personal feelings about his departure and it couldn't be expressed any better with words.

The image is clear, bright and sharp with heaps of detail in the butterfly and the background is perfect.

Even though it's damaged the butterfly will carry on flying and living out its life, as must Howard and all those affected. Thanks for sharing this and your thoughts.

I read quite some time ago on TN that they lose pieces of wings in battle between eachother. Don't know if it's thrue.
Obviously he could also have escape from a predator.

A lovely image and a fine tribute I'm sure we all will share...

Salut Horia,

Hi Horia,
An excellent photo and tribute to our friend. Perfectly composed and framed. Spot on exposure has the colors and detail looking great. Perfect DOF control. And like all of us, slightly flawed.
Take care,

Hello Horia,
Having been away several times I missed this Scarce swallowtale. It has lost a little bit of its tail! (the same happened to mine, I caught last year). They have such a beautiful way to glide on the air. I also feel grateful for the gentle words you found for Howard.
Best regards

Hello Horia , This one is very apart a beauty butterfly ,great compositie colours and bg thanks ,Good Weekend Teunie .

Salut Horia

Hello Horia,
very well presented and composed capture of the Scarce Swallowtail with one tail missing. We see that species quite often in that condition, and I always think the tail was torn off when the butterfly escaped an attack by lizard or bird that was left behing with a piece of tail in its mouth after mistaking the eyespot for the butterfly's head and snapping at it. But I never could actually watch such an attack.
Very well chosen thoughtful dedication to our good friend Howard. Not looking into TN on a regular base these days, I didn't notice his letter to the forum before reading your dedication. Thank you for that.
With thanks, and best regards,

Oh this poor thing has seen its share of adventures it seems. Yet still beautiful for sure. beautiful photo . TFS

Hi Horia
striking picture and you hit the nail right on the head (probably a bad translation of a dutch saying).
I ran out of points, but then again I think the support we can give Howard should do as well

Hi Horia,
A very nice dedicatory to a great fiend of TN and one of the best (in my preferences, the best) photographer in this site. The butterfly looks like a fan and...what happens with the left wing tail?
