Hi everybody

The Lemon Pansy Junonia lemonias is a common nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia. It is found in gardens, fallow land, and open wooded areas.

It is brown with numerous eye-spots as well as black and lemon-yellow spots and lines on the upperside of the wings. The underside is a dull brown, with a number of wavy lines and spots in varying shades of brown and black. There is also an eyespot on the lower side of the forewing. The wet and dry season forms differ considerably in coloration and even shape. In the wet season form the markings are distinct and vivid and the wing shape is a little more rounded.

In the dry season form the markings are obscure and pale especially on the underside and the wing margin is more angular and jagged. This helps it camouflage in the dried leaf-litter.

bonjour behrad
j'ai fait un WS pour les taches qu'il reste sur le BG et ensuite retouché les niveaux et couleurs.
pour la netteté c'est tres bon.

Hello Behrad,
Seeing you after a long time. Been busy?
You have done a wonderful job here. Lemon Pansy is a good looking butterfly which you have captured very well.
Good perspective, good focus on the face and upper parts of the wings, lovely colours and fine details. The specimen is a bit tatty, but that does not affect the appeal of the capture.

Hi Behrad and really sorry for the late return, but i was actually gone on a field trip :)

A very beautiful macro work, showing this lovely butterfly from a terrific POV.
The details on the head are really great and the DOF is excellent - blurring the BG very nicely.
Very good lighting and composition, too.

Bravo and TFS
