After my first shots of a jumping spider, i found this type of insect to be pretty cute and very photogenic :) That's my honest opinion. So, in fact, during the following trips i took to the thermal pond where i shoot my dragons and damsels, i actually went looking especially for some "jumpers", but i didn't really find any :(( I was rather sad.

But my luck was to re-appear one day, at home, when i took out the trash...yes, you'd better believe it :)
This little fellow was standing right there on the trash bin, in my yard.

So i rushed in, grabbed my camera and my trusty close-up lenses and ran out to take some shots. I actually managed to move him around a little bit just to change the scenario, and this is one of the shots from that day.

Unfortunately, i was so captured by his big and beautiful eyes that i forgot to take any high POV pictures so that i (or my very good friends from Poland) can give this fellow and ID :((

Anyway, i hope you'll like it :)

Hello Horia,
Amazing macro work showing the fine details of this spiders face, thanks for sharing Horia.

It's a very nice one. If you look closely you can see yourself in it's eyes! Good work, my compliments... Arjuna

Hi Horia,
This one is so cute with big eyes and hairy body. Sharp and crisp clear image. May be it is you that reflected in those big eyes.

Hi Horia,
a fine close-up with good details and nice DOF.
The eyes are very good in focus and the look is great.
You have composed it in a nice way and the POV is good TO.
Well done.

This is a stunning POV Horia with excellent details and beautiful light in its numerous eyes :) I like those spider a lot but I don't think that we have them here. You are right by saying that they are very photogenic. The light reflects so well in its beautiful eyes. I like this low POV. This is very well done and who knows what you'll find the next when you'll take out the trash :-)

Fantastic details, very effective POV Horia. I may have placed him slightly more to the left. The reflection in his eye shows the man at work, yes. Very interesting capture.

bonjour horia
toujours aussi bon,je ne sais pas si c'est la même espece que celle que j'ai vu une fois avec de grands yeux mais si c'est le cas elle est vraiment de petite taille et le resultat est vraiment impressionnant.

A cute little jumping spider, my what big eyes you have!!
I like the POV, sharpness and good background.

Hello Horia!
I really tried to find any similar species to this one to send you ID but till now without any success :( I this is not my last word ;)
The picture is really great and I can imagine that jumping spiders (next to reptiles and dragonflies) very soon will be your favourite group ;) And that is goo for all of us!
This is really splendid macro, perfect details, very good flash, colors, and interesting POV. Maybe only FG taks to much space of picture but I really like this picture :)
Best greetings and have a nice afternoon!

Don't look at me and stay where you are :-)
Impressing picture. Great details.
Best wishes,

Muy buenas Horia

Hi Horia,
What a curious animal this spider is! Great pov, background and an excellent details of this eyes.
TFS, José M.

Hello Horia a very sharp and quality work perfect dof and lovely catchlights very well done tfs rgds Necip.

Hello Horia

Great picture of this beautiful spider. Very good sharpness with so many details especially sharp eyes. Very nice colours too.

I have some pictures of jumping spiders too and I know how difficult it is to get a nice picture of them. They actually move very fast and it is very difficult to keep them in focus with the little dof you can get with a macro lens.

You did a great job here - tfs.

I feel a bit CSI today, I am sure that if you zoomed the eyes infinite times, you will find the whole lanscape in 20x20 pixels :)))
Not only the details and colours, but the BG is really elegant.
Best regards, keep well.

Hello Horia,
nice close up, those eyes sure capture the attention. DOF could be a bit wider, but all in all a fabulous composition.
Sharpness, colors and POV are great.

The kind of quality work you do with your PowerShot surpasses even the best from the fanciest DSLR gizmos, Horia.
The eyes of this apparently tiny spider are beautifully captured in this macro shot.
Thanks and best regards.

Hi again dear Horia ,
nice image with great focus and it has excellent backgroud.
well captured

Hello Horia,
This is awesome!
Looks like something submerging from the great depths of sea...
Fine details are captured, great colours and a pleasant non-intrusive background enhances the insect!

Hi Horia,

to be honest I didn't like your most recent photo (of a frog looking out from the water) so I came to your gallery to see what else you have. Most of your pictures are truly amazing, I never even see these animals let alone take such great pictures of them. I liked this spider particularly much, its beady eyes looking straight at me - it is a little cute :) I love the sharpness and the small DOF which allows me to concentrate on those eyes. Great job!

Hi Horia, this is an amazing Spider! He sure is fluffy and looks like he has a lot of character. Are there 4 eyes? Your pov is perfect on this, exposure also perfect and light and colour superb. I must go and look them up.
