A stocky medium-sized Heron with a short neck and thick black bill, the Black-Crowned Night-Heron has grey wings, white under-belly and a black cap and back. It is the most common of all the Herons.

He or she has NO NECK!? What's up with that? How does he swallow? ha ha
Good shot of an interesting bird. So what's the secret - how do you get so close to these guys? Is it some kind of spray-on that makes you smell like a birdie?
Good picture with both black and white and neither seems to be out of range. Impressive!!

Lucky you, spotting this great Night Heron. We have been looking for them intensely this last month!

I envy you even more for getting this great photo... ;o)

This is a great photo but I think it might be improved a little bit further by correcting the white balance a bit. I guess this is morning or evening photo... right?
