Excellent! I have never seen this bird before TN, and never this splendidly! Great composition, colors and detail. I especially like the lighting in this shot. His beak is almost as large as he is! Thank you so much for bringing him to us.

Good shot! You know I love Kingfishers (in fact I have a theme for them, feel free to add any shots you feel apply), and this is an excellent shot. I love the warm tones here - it complements your other shot well! About the only thing I can see is that the pole feels very slightly tilted to me - try a fractional rotation 0.15°CW maybe, see what you think. Anyway, an excellent capture :-D

The scientific name (halcyon smyrnensis)of this bird is coming from the city I live (İzmir/Smyrna-Turkey). İzmir is the most north-west point for this species.Tough I had saw this bird only one time :)
