[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This seems to be a regular face here on TN.
Not only the Mute swan, but these portrait shots of the Mute swan.
I've been trying not to post this, but I had to give in.

This was shot at Startops reservoir near Tring. I was sat on a bench next to the canal, which runs alongside the reservoir with my good lady, when this chap decided to join us.

I'm sure you've read enough about this swan, so I'll just leave these notes nice and short.

Thanks for looking

A superb portrait straight in the adequate theme.
Superb light and perfect sharpness.
A very good job.

This is a nice portrait Alan.I too noticed the yellow hue which Mike has edited a little.
I wondered whether perhaps this was shot in early morning or late evening light. There's nothing wrong with it...its just different. (funny...thats what they always say about me ;)

Excellent work Alan, lovley colours and composition. I think it could be a little sharper but great work. Well done.

Hi Alan, I quite like the warm tone to this shot and it is something I quite often do on purpose with some of my own shots by setting the white balance to cloudy. Great DoF and focus is spot on, very nicely presented image.

Alan, This is as good as any portrait of the Mutes that have been posted. The color, exposure, and detail are perfect. zgreat close crop and framing. A wall hanger to be proud of!

Alan, Great POV and I like the warm colors I see. Great job.

What a beautiful swan ! I love the expression of tranquility on his face, and the light is so beautiful. Very sharp details, also. Great work.
