Two young polar bears who are playing around on the snowy tundra North-West of Churchill, near Hudson Bay in Canada.
Every year early winter between 8 and 9 hundred polar bears are gathering around Churchill, called "Polar Bear Capital of thr World".
They all are waiting untill the ice on Hudson Bay is strong enough to go out on the ice and catch some seal for dinner.
Most of them did'nt eat anything for 6 months and believe me, they are hungry and also nead food to gain some fat to come through the very cold winter.
To kill time and do something about there fighting skills, they often play around a bit and play fight eachother.

I did travel over the tundra on board a so called polar buggy for 4 days and it has been real fun to see all those wonderful animals.
Thanks in advance for viewing and critiques.
Warm regards, Harry

amazing action capture good focus very interesting lighting.

very good photo

Hi Harry,

This is a difficult shot to get .. the white BG and white bears would make this very challenging for me ..

I like the moment you have captured, details on the fur are excellent.

Hello Harry,
Wonderful action shot of these two beautiful bears putting in some combat pratice, the exposure reveals excellent detail in their pelage. Did you find at times that getting a good exposure was somewhat challenging when photographing your white subjects with the white background?
You dont see to many photos of polar bears in the wild on this site that often. :)

Hi Harry
Techniqually perfect although correct exposure must have been a headache.
One trouble: there is no colour at all, no blue ice, no yellowish fur.
But great action

Hallo Harry,
Weer een fascinerende foto. Ondanks al het wit toch een prachtig contrast. Vooral het verloop van scherpte in de achtergrond vind ik heel bijzonder. Scherpte en uitdrukking van de beren zijn groots.

What a unique opportunity you had! ...and becoming rarer. It is sad that these animals are threatened with loss of habitat. That ice may not get strong enough. It is a great white on white shot. Great action capture!

terrific action shot.
Pose of both is great.
perfect mastering of whites.

Hi Harry,
Excellent shot!, capturing this great moment. Should not be easy to capture white objects with all white BG....

Great action shot with a clean background. Beautifully done.

Hello Harry,

Superb action shot! It's like bixing fight ;)
Very good exposure, nice composition!

Muy buenas Harry de nuevo
Buen momento el captado de estos osos jugando, pero creo que en el procesado se generó ruido. Te he realizado un Workshop espero que te guste.
Un saludo

hello Harry,

This is truly beautiful. I think it needs some patience to catch something like this. Exposure is perfect in that difficult all white environement.

Cheers, Petru

Hi Harry,
Quite a difficult photo to expose with all the whites. You caught a very good pose of these two big guys. Composition is very nice. TFS

Dag Harry,

a very finely detailed image.
Superb control of exposure. Fantastic composition and of course a wonderful subject.

Back 2moro with :)

Oh, my God, Harry. At least they were killing time and not photographers... I have heard that the polar bear has no future if the tendencies of ice fusion continue... They will be increasingly more and more hungry until disapparition... I notice the whitish tones on the fur.. Is it a difference with adults that are more yellowish? A nice feeling of high key on the snow with a very good composition... Very good.

Hello Harry,
This capture is magnificent! I love the pose of the two bears and the overall white colour in this composition. Excellent DOF and sharpness too.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Lucky you, Harry.
A real privilege to travel there...
At first sight you should want the background with a little more detail; but due to your tele, a 500, the background is blurred of course; a small DOF range.
Superb 'fight'.

Great shot. You managed to expose correctly, nearly impossible in there conditions. Very beautyful, thanks to have permitted us to see this one.

Excellent behavior image Harry. The all white image fits their environment perfect. Great composition with detail. Must have been amazing 4 days over the tundra getting to view scenes like these.

HI Harry,
I had missed this beautiful pic. White on white ! great exposure and action frozen in time. In fact this photo reminds me of Steve Kaufman, who had taken a shot of Japanese Cranes in snow. TFS, Regards
