Dragonflight III (third in 3-part series)

The final photo in this short series is my favorite dragonfly, the male Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis).

This photo was taken at the local botanical garden. It is hand-held, manual focus. Notice how the dragonfly puts his front legs behind his head when he flies.

Another great one of a dragonfly in flight Ken.
Perfect focus and sharpness on the insect and wonderful movement of the wings wich give the image a wonderful sence of action.

Great shot Ken, not easy to get these guys in focus in flight.
Good composition though and I like teh blurred wings.

Marvelous in-flight shot of this dragonfly. I can see why it is your favorite - its colors are wonderful. Excellent details - wonderful blurred wings. I love the composition with only the one leaf in view. Beautiful background. This series was too short.

Great action shot of this dragonfly, which looks like its coming in for a landing. I never knew the dragon fly has it's front legs in that position, thanks for sharing that observation, I'll keep my open for that one. :)
