Back to my familiar Coquihalla haunt along one of my favorite ridges. Snags are one of my favorite subjects as I find they have much character and the bleached wood adds a nice contrast to the surroundings.
My reason for the title was that "the old" is the snag and "the new" is the younger greenery around it. Needle Peak is prominent to the right, with Yak in the distance to the left.

great composition iwth the dead wood greenery and mountain. nice POV good colors nice focus

It is in the wind...I can smell it! I love it! It is something perhaps you as a trekker see much more often than I..... but I do hope I am still young enough and sleek enough to see this. It is a work of art Mr Epp. Patterns of fallen and long expired wood, along with varying heights of boulders and rock and mountain? What more could a man expose himself to and not be breathless?!

Georgous. Nicely balanced.

nice view, TFS Ori

Hi Tim,
The landscape and the view is beautiful, and you managed to capture it with a very good POV, composition and light. TFS

Wow - that's beautiful! Great composition - the dead tree and majestic rise of the mountain. Lovely! :)

Great capture...Outstanding POV and color...A really beautiful vista...TFS

Hi Tim,

I can see you have been busy whilst I was away from TN. I'll have to check out your gallery soon. This one did catch my eye. I like the interesting foreground of dead wood and the good depth of field. There is nice natural color and a balanced composition.
