A fantastic pose of this Masked Flowerpiercer (Is that really its name? It is wonderful. : )
The colors are stunning... Got to love that red eye against the brilliant blue plumage.
Its diagonal perch and full-face presentation make for a great composition against that clean OOF BG.

Wow, what an eye! Great shot Selen, with excellent brilliant colour and detail. I like the angled composition with the bird sticking its head out into the centre. I might have been tempted to crop about a half inch off the top.

Beautiful work, Selen! The pose is nice, the colours are beautiful and the sharpen details are amazing! I am falling in love with your lens, first because I have some problems without the IS in my Tamron, and second because the extra 100mm compared to my 300mm would be a great advantage. I believe that you are a happy owner, am I right? Congratulations!

1. POV is very nice
2. DOF is very good and details just great
3. colours are very vivid and perfectly saturated
4. BG allow to expose the main object - a bird
5. the object was not know to me and moreover it is really very beauty :)

Your bird shots have always amazed me and make me feel jealous. I am actually observing your shots minutely and trying to learn from them.
This is an amazing shot with such bright colours and immaculate sharpness on its plumage. The focus is spot-on and good use of natural lighting. The red eyes look gorgeous and the BG enhances the beauty. Excellent POV to capture this fabulous pose and a precise DOF. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

I am quite new to Trek Nature, and browse as often as time permits. I can now see why it is so difficult to get Loot away from his PC. There are just so many talented photographers on the site and they all have such spectacular portfolios. It is upon this browsing session that I came across this beautiful “Masked flower piercer” and although this is not your latest, I would like to give my smiley towards it. It is such a gorgeous, colourful and wide awake bird. The blue and black plumage and the bright red eye makes a perfect match. The detail of the sharp beak and the paws are just stunning. You have a stunning gallery jam packed with some awesome photos. – Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
