[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Laughing Kookaburra, These birds are one of our continent’s most famous creatures. In general, people find their laughing call endearing – but not in the early hours of the morning.

There diet consists mainly of Insects, Lizards, small Snakes, Mice, and pretty much anything they can catch on the ground.

Hola Rick
Una preciosidad de Cucaburra la que nos muestras, una gran captura. La pena es que las plumas de la cola no entran en el fotograma. Un gran detalle del ojo y nitidez.
Un saludo

Hey Rick, I find it endearing in the early morning hours too. These have got to be one of the coolest birds here. You got a shot of him on the ground so he must have been going for dinner. You have very good focus and lighting on this guy, with dark behind. Crop might be just a tad tight. Very good exposure. He's looking good. Love that eye.

Thanks, John

Hi Rick

Very good low POV. Nice catchlight in the eye. The sun looks a little harsh resulting in some parts being over exposed. I have uploaded a workshop where I have endeavoured to bring out some more plumage detail. :-)
