This strange and "beautiful fly" appeared suddenly just beside me, when I was takink other photos, and posed for about 2 minutes showing no fear at all to me, the camera and the flash.
I called it Santa Fly because of the white beard, which gives this fly a cool look :)
I could not find a right id., but in a next post I will show a top view, as the patterns in the wings are quite unique and interesting, and maybe they are a good clue.

Hope you all have a nice Sunday!

Hello Felipe,
This is a real macro! Excellent POV with fine sharpness to show the 'santa' head of this remarkable fly and with this DOF the POV is best too. Nice contrasting BG.
I think this might be some species of parasite fly, parasitic on other insects like bugs.
TFS and best regards, Ivan

Hello Felipe and Cristina,
I certainly didn't know that flies grow beards - but they get old too, I suppose!!;-)
Great capture in nice light, very sharp and fine colours. That enormous eye really stands out against the beard. Excellent composition.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hi Felipe,
a very nce close-up shot with good details and DOF, the
subject standout well from te BG.
The colours are nice and the light as well.
But I think it's little to much space above and less in front of but thats a matter of taste.
Sorry I can't help with the ID.
Very well done my friend.

Hi Felipe,
I saw this one and just had to come back to it, the perfect title :)
You've captured this grey bearded wonder in expert fashion, hats-off to ya!
Very well done.
