|This was taken last year at the beautiful Arboretum Park in Seattle, Washington. It was a hot day and rounding a bend on a trail, I came upon a lovely blue heron hanging out in a still corner of the swamp. I was probably only about 15 feet away from him. He was gracious enough to let me photograph him for a few seconds, then he flew away with a squawk. Photo has been cropped slightly from original.|

I like the moment here and the wonderful blue water. To see such a noble bird at this place must be very impressive - they are so shy.
