Hi All,

I've been a TE member for quite long months now, but this is my first posting on Trek Nature.

One of my favourite sites is very close to Hungary's capital Budapest, called Merzse mocsár (Merzse swamp). However, it's not swamp anymore. Long-long years ago, when the airport started to operate (very close to this area) it confused the natural life of the swamp, the lake ran dry, etc. My father used to take us (me & my sister) to the dry bed of lake.
A few years ago a rehabilitation project was kicked off, to restore the natural life in this area. Now there is again water in the lake, coots, different types of ducks, even grey herons discovered the place. A small hide was introduced on the lake to watch birds, frogs and other forms of live.

Some 20-30 meters from the lake I realized this Chiffchaff, while he was constructing his nest. He stopped on this limb almost everytime before flying into the nest hidden between the grass.

I wish you a very warm welcome to TN !
Youstart with a great picture ! Beautiful details, nice natural colors, wonderful composition and POV, and an excellent BG which makes you subject stand out very nicely. You have captured him at the perfect moment, with all this grass in his beak. Very well done !
