Illal Lake Coquihalla

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Well I don't think that's it's official name, but it does form the headwaters of Illal Creek, so that's what we call it. This lake is the second largest along this ridge. This kicks off a mini series of small lakes and tarns that we came across in our travels within this fascinating area.
This is a single photo composition. I also have a 5 photo pano, but the sky is gonna take a fair bit of work to smooth over so it's not ready yet.
This area is quite windswept and at some 6000 feet in elevation, so there isn't much growing here anyway.
I've visited this lake many times over the past few years and have yet to see it calm. |

I always appreciate the nice saturated color you manage to get in your alpine shots. This is no exception. I'll be looking for the pano version. This version feels a little cropped on the right side... like I want to see what's over there.

beautyful composition.. nice colours..
Once again, great colors! You're awesome with these landscapes....you frame them perfectly. Good shot!
You were at or near tree line..Those small growths remind me of the pygmy forest in Mendocino. Lookes like it was close to noon? Trying to orient myself here...unless your jabberwocky, you must be on the Northerly side of the mountain? Nice shoot.
Hello Tim,
Well done
Nice vista.
