[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Pied Kingfisher in night flight.
About the technique:
I used flash with second curtain sync. to froze the Pied kingfishe hoverr in the end of the shoot, it was 'blinded' picture because it was quite dark and I was very satisfied with the result, it is not easy to do this picture.
I used +1 FEC to give more power to the flash light.
You can see the shadow of the hovering in the darkness behind the bird.
The picture is almost ful frame picture.

It is this a real bird or the ghost of one. Great sharpness of the head and the great effect of the wings. Well done.

Well, you should have used the anti-redeye function;-))).

This is an amazing capture Elroyie, really. Great sharpness and the dof is spot on. Perfect frozen movement on the wings leaving just a tiny blur. - A real winner.

I just cann't figure out how you managed to focus?
