This is not a wild fox. This was taken at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey. At the BWC they work towards conservation of British Wildlife and in breeding programmes. The foxes at the BWC have been hand reared and are too dependant on humans to release back into the wild. They have a good large spae with underground burrows so they don't have to come out into the open unless they want to.

This fox is known as Honey. She is 11 years old and this year produced one cub.

She was sleeping in the long grass and looked up as her son ran past.

Hi Karan,

Oh, you woke her up and she doesn't look too sure of you. I like the facial expression and the yellow eye. Nice colors and details. She looks wonderful in the tall grass.

Hi Karen,
priceless expression, so well timed...you caught the colour of her coat very well too and the detail of her fur is excellent. As usual, a great shot.

Hello Karan,
I was amazed, while I lived in England, how tame the foxes were. They seemed to be everywhere even in the cities. It was fun to have them near but at the same time sad. The wild countryside constantly being under threat. I'm sure the BWC do a great job helping these foxes though and you've caught this very nicely hiding in the grass. Great focus on the eyes and sharp details. A very fine composition.
Many thanks, Ulla

Hi Karen. A very good shot of the Fox. She has an old and wise look about her.good light in the eyes.and detail in the fur with warm colours. very well done TFS.

Hello Karan,
Tame or not, she still is a fox by looks!
Maybe the behaviour is different from what you find in the wild, in particular in relation to people...
Beautiful portrait when half hiding in the grass, lovely fur in great colours!

excelente trabajo color y compo.

Hello Karan,
excellent shot of this fox. I like looking of fox and eyes contact. and also very nice details, sharpness, POV,composition. Clarity very well. good notes to read. thanks. best wishes. Ahmet

It seems that fox have a way of looking right at a camera, It is a nice capture. It is unlikely that Honey would have survived as long in the wild.

Evelynn : )

Hello Karan,
I have seen this lady before and I can't remember if it was one of your pictures. This is a nice portrait of this sleepy girl with good POV, exposure, colors and compo. I just wonder why at F8, you didn't get more DOF...? Did you use noise reduction on its body? TFS this nice one :)

what a beautiful creatures, 11 years is old enough for a fox I guess but she still look gorgeous, really love her expression, nice POV and pose, the grass naturalized the overall presentation, if you not telling this in captivity I'll though it's a wild fox, TFS

Hi Karan.
You managed to reflect a touching glance of this cute fox. Bravo. Nice pose of the animal. nice surroundings, excellent focusing on the fox face and perfect composition of the image. Lovely done and TFS.

hi karan,

11years for honey is a sign of well living for this fox!!!
i like the expression on her face and the relaxed looking very much!

I love this look. Brilliant.

Hi Karan,

When you take a look to this beautiful fox and see in his eyes and you try to take a look in the right eye of my fox in the dunes you see his problem. This eye is almost close. I think that is his problem.

She is a grand old lady. Beautiful colors. Perfect sharpness, lovely colour and details on your captured. Regards and TFS Bob
