I love the details that you have captured in the underwater scene as well as those in the distant trees.
A delight to the eye and the soul

I love this POV. The entrance of this picture is well taught with these rocks and the river leading our attention towards the the nice cone shape mountain in the BG. Like also the texture of the clouds in the sky. TFS.
PS: Continue to have a good recovery.

A top landscape. Such a tranquil scene. Nice detail in the sky in the clouds. Well done.
It is a nice shot Niek... worthy of "risking life and limb". I suppose none of our shots is worth that... but at the time it sure seems so doesn't it? The sky and land seem very balanced... I think I would have chosen a bit more land/river... and let it sweep me along to the distant peak. I'm just not sure about including so much sky... but that is just me. I love the strong foreground and the great depth of focus.

I'm glad you are feeling better.

I don't have to look at the name to see who did this!
A classical Niek landscape, where the boulders are nicely used to create depth in the composition...
This could of course be anywhere in Norway too, so I feel quite familiar with such a view!

glad to hear you're feeling better. This is a great shot and worth the risk in those flip flops!
The f/20 has given you a huge DOF that is sharp throughout and the exposure is near enough perfect. I like the composition with the eye led down the mountain stream to the shapely peak in the BG. I would've liked to have seen a little more of those river worn rocks in the FG and a little less sky perhaps, but thats just personal preference and by no means a criticism!
All in all a great shot, well done. It has such a feeling of peace and quiet.

I didn't know that you weren't feeling good. It seems that you are better now and I'm glad! This is another superb landscape picture with nice pastel tones of colors, very good and well chosen exposure and, as usual, original and effective composition. This DOF is just great and let us see so many beautiful details. This seems to be such a great place! TFS,

The view is fantastic. The landscape is amazing. I can see some reflections in the water. This shows the nature has no match with anything. Excelent Ganesh

Glad to hear you're feeling better. It's probably all the good cheery critiques you've been getting on this beautiful series of yours from Scotland. This is really beautiful. I like the pastel colours in the evening sky and those beautiful river rocks. Also the last light on the hills and trees in the b/ground. Very lovely, well done once more.
Best regards, Steve.

I can imagine you in flip flops clambering over the shore :) I have loved all of your landscape shots. As autumn will soon start I want to try out a few landscape shots so I am looking at your shots, PaulH's shots and Pablominto's to get some tips. I have even ordered a new wide angle lens with my work performance bonus. I like the subtle light in this shot and the relationship between the FG and the dramatic BG. Lovely image
I am glad you are getting better
Very nice Niek. I like big skys with wide angle shots. I wonder what a horizontal frame would do for this view?
Nicely composed and exposed.
PS. Maybe you remember your hikers next time. :-)
Hello Niek a very well composed shot with the rocks coming out from the diagnol in a pleasing curve, good dof, sharp throughout nice use of the wide. I would consider going for a Canon 5D perfect for the photogs you take and giving the 40D a miss. tfs rgds Necip.

May I give you a good advice that could help you when you chose point of views like this one? Don't wear flip-flops, neither sandals nor shoes: go barefoot as I do! I do all my hiking tours up to the snow limit barefoot...
Why I am talking about this? You mentioned in your interesting an as usually very detailed and vivid notes the point of view you have chosen. I agree with you that it's a good one: it allowed you a great composition together with a fine perspective-effect. The evening light, especially at that stage of the day, also gave wonderful colors. I prefer these colors to the classical red and yellow sunset colors.

Hi Niek, nice shot. I like the vertical format. The composition is good. I think you could do with a little more light on the mountain sides. Perhaps a little highlights and shadows or curves? Well done.
