What an unusual shot. I'm sure you're right, they both must benefit, and my first thought is that the bird might eat the ticks, fleas, and other parasites that torment this beast? That said, it is an unusual shot, but I like it. I also like the details in this beat's face. The bird is soft, but it still captures the overall uniqueness.

Wow, what a great shot of those two.
They seem very comfortable with each other,
so it is possible that they do have some kind of symbiotic relationship.
The image has very sharp details and well saturated colors.
The subjects are well isolated against the grassy BG.
A very interesting shot.
