I just took this photo outside...it was dark enough that I had to use a very slow shutter speed and a tripod but I was happy with the results. It's almost ominous. Of course, my cat Moses, kept trying to knock the tripod over so I have some blurry shots too.

This was the forecast for this evening:
"ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
ACROSS THE NORTHWEST HILL COUNTRY AND THE NORTHERN BIG COUNTRY. WHILE THE
THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOT EXPECTED TO REACH SEVERE LEVELS...SOME WILL
PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WINDS...AND CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING."

I think these clouds would probably be classified as Cumulonimbus Clouds. Later as it grew even darker, Mammatus started to develop in the 'arm' of this cloud.

One thing that is always a real pleasure is seeing the skies in different lands. When they turn out this majestic, that pleasure is huge.
I bet this is exactly the colours you saw too.
I could sit and stare at this type of scene for ages.
Thanks for putting this one here Angelina.
Glad Moses let you get some that are perfect.:)

Wow!!! What a huge storm cloud you captured Angelina.
The colours, textures and lighting really set this one apart.
It's just beautiful....I hope Moses wasn't to scared :)

Angelina -this shot just takes the breath away. You're right - it's quite ominous! But how could you not just stare at it????? Well done!

Hello Angelina! Very sophisticated cloud! Sophistocated work. Cheers!

Hi Angelina,
What a beautiful capture of this after sunset thunderstorm. Nicely captured although your cat was busy tangling the tripod. Very good colors and looks dangerous as cloud to ground lighting. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Angelina,
Great play of light!
Clouds are always interesting subjects, but often difficult to do well... this is great with outstanding details!
Lovely composition with the silhouetted trees, pin sharp...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hi Angy,
a spectacular scene.
Sharp with amazing detail.
Perfect composition that emphasizes the ominous cloud.
Well done,
Joe

Hi Angelina,
A wonderful cloud formation and the fact that you got it with such wonderful color is very beautiful. I like the contrast between the dark sky and the illuminated cloud. Good texture and exposure and a fine composition.

Niek

P.S. I hope my answer on your lens question is useful.

Hello Angy,
Moses seems to be innocent, because I cannot see any blur. I only see a wonderful after-sunset, and the clouds so well captured. Greetings!
Ciao, Violetta

An impressive thunder head cooked up by the heat of the sun! You really did a great job controlling the light. The trees make nice silhouettes except right below the cloud where they seem to glow. Well done.

TFS!

Bonjour Angelina.
belle image et belle lumiére.Amitié.

This is a fantastic shot. I love sunsets, but this one seems more dramatic than most. I love the composition with the blend of colors, texture, and lighting. Might I add I'm jealous? :) Excellent capture!

Hi angy,
Beautiful sky and clouds with outstanding colors. The photo is fantastic but I know it is impossibe to capture the true beauty and magnificence of the event. Great feeling of depth and magnitude. Really well captured.

Hi Angelina,
Fantastic evening sky with the golden glow of the dying sun rays creating a fabulous effect. Superb colour tones and it was a great idea to have a slow shutter speed to captured this moment. Excellently done. Kudos.

Very very Beautiful..........
I am admiring
Thank you
Laurent

This is such an amazing sky Angelina. Those colors are stunning! I also like the silhouette of the trees that add interesting element to the composition. This is very nice and dramatic :) Thanks,
Claudine

wooow
The sky have a beautiful effect great moment!
I like the light and the great perspective! Take care Ana:)

I like this photo in part because it was difficult to capture and partly because I live in Texas too and I know how crazy out weather can be. I relly like cloud pictures and especially those involving the possibility of rain.
