Very well detailed photo of this grasshopper.
By the use of the same color of background, bark and grasshopper, the colourful abdomen jumps into the eye of the observer. The blurred backgound doesn't presvind from the insect.
So, very well composed and sharp photo.

Guten Tag Anne,
diesen Hüpfer hast du genau aus dem richtigen Blickwinkel 'abgelichtet', so dass der gesamte Körper im Fokusbereich liegt. Gute Schärfe und schöne natürliche Farben!
Eine ähnliche Art mit roten Schenkeln habe ich auch aus Südtirol 'mitgebracht'.

This might be confused with O. haemorrhoidalis, but I think you are right about this ID.

if i cant pronounce the name it must be good...
what i like in a lot of bug shots..and this one of course is real detail of the tiniest things
good lighting and well handled non items like foreground and background..

ich realisiere erst jetzt, dass ich Deinen wunderbaren Heugümper nicht kommentiert habe. Es ist ein Meisterschuss, alles stimmt am Bild, die anderen Betrachter haben schon alles gesagt.
Als Art kommt neben O. rufipes auch Stenobothrus rubicundulus, der Bunte Alpengrashüpfer in Frage. Beide sind nicht häufig anzutreffen, Du hast in jedem Fall einen guten Fang gemacht!

Very colourful and beautiful species of grasshopper! I like a lot POV - I can observe an insect from its point of view ;)
On the other hand I do not known if cutting a little free space localized above the insect would be better - now I think there is a little to much especially in we compare it with grasshopper.
Anyway, this is only my idea and rather small thing :)
