[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
From the nature trail on Sherburne Lake (near the Many Glacier Hotel). I have been trying to get some foreground with the UW lenses, so here I tried a different approach -- layers of depth with a frame. I used to shoot this way in the old days, so I went back to it.

Although I love the blue skies, I really like the color that white puffy clouds add to an image. I expose for the bright areas, so the darker areas tend to get a bit underexposed and the colors saturated as a result.

PP: A slight contrast adjustement, resize, frame, and USM.

Hi Mike,
I think you chose a really nice vantage point for this shot. It is one of the best I've seen, as I think it is next to impossible to get an interesting shot of that symmetrical pointy mountain. I really like the natural framing you used. It provides an almost circular window through which to view the mountains. I like how that lens recorded the other mountains in the distance. I suppose you could retrieve a few details in the shadows with "Highlights and Shadows" in Photoshop, but it really isn't too distracting. The lake in front of Many Glacier Hotel is Swiftcurrent and the large lake the east of that is Sherburne.

TFS... it's a great shot.

Hi Mike,
This is perfect. I really like how you framed the mountain using the trees and shoreline. I really draws me into the scenery wanting to be there myself. My memory is fading a bit, and I am not sure if I have been here, but it does look familiar. I like the darkness of the trees on both side since it helps me to focus on the sky and mountains even more. Am amazed about the clarity in the photo. I think I just had too much haze to deal with.

Niek

Hi Mike

What a stunning view so wonderfully recorded. It is a real beauty beautifully framed by the trees which being darker does not distract at all. the mountains are amazing (but I am a sucker for mountains) and the clouds and sky are spot on.

Very nicely done and TFS

Hi Mike,
I think you chose a great spot to take this photo from. The trees on the sides make a natural frame with view between them to a very high mountain. Good low pov and I also like the white clouds in the blue sky.

Fantastic picture! Beautiful colors and framing.

Great shot Mike. I really like every thing about it. Assume job on the framing with the two trees that pulls you in and opens up to the great view.
Very well done, TFS

Hello Mike,
An attractive composition, superb details!
I like the framing of the summits in the back, all topped by a wonderful sky...

Hi Mike. It is very captivating. I like how well you've framed it; not only with trees but with the receding clouds. The whole picture has wonderful perspective. You can almost feel the moisture in the white clouds against the rich blue sky. Well done. TFS Trevor
